We do bespoke store design that is welcoming, on trend and attractive. Each new store is architecturally designed to suit the space and your style. Together we take into careful consideration the work flow and ergonomics for your staff to maximise efficiency. Our Degani café’s are designed to be unique and with 20 years of experience we help maximize the floor space for optimal seating numbers.

Support

Here, you’re in business ‘for yourself’ but not ‘by yourself’. We are with you the whole way. Your support crew are experts in the hospitality industry. As a franchisee you have the advantage of sidestepping the pitfalls entrepreneurs usually hit when starting a business. We have proven systems, we invest in you and your training from day one. The Degani team are always available to help with staff, supplies or marketing, whatever it is that you need so you can just get on with making the ‘dough’.

7 STEPS TO LAUNCHING YOUR SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS

We are excited to have you on board, let us guide you through the process.

ENQUIRY

After registering your interest, we will contact you to discuss the procedure in moving forward. A Deed of Confidentiality is required to allow us to share with you details on the opportunities available.

MEET UP

Once we receive your signed Deed of Confidentiality, we will call you and arrange a time to meet to answer your questions and get to know you.

HOMEWORK

We will provide you with details on your preferred business option and we will ask for more information about you, so that we can both do our homework. We recommend you seek professional financial and legal advice and to talk to, or work with other Degani Franchisees.

PRE-APPROVAL

At this point, we will request a business plan and get you to complete a personality review to assess your suitability. If successful, we will approve you as a franchisee.

TRAINING

As the franchisee and business owner you will undergo a minimum of 4 weeks of training with our Degani Operations Trainer and Busines Development Manager. They will help you select and train your team and set your business up for success.

BUILDING

Now a site is selected, the next step is to negotiate & sign a lease. We then issue you with a Franchise Disclosure and documentation to sign off on. Then we can get started on the fun stuff, the store design and you’ll see your dream come to life with the fit out.

OPENING

So it is now opening day. Congratulations! Your Business development manager will now work with you in store through the opening weeks as you learn your business and begin to grow.

SUPPORT

Once established, your Degani Team will coach you to set goals & increase profitability by focussing on attracting new customers and delivering first-rate quality, service and cleanliness.

Behind our Success

There are many factors contributing to the growth of a franchise business. but the most important factor is the location. Ultimately affecting how it operates, such as total sales and how costly it is to run. That’s where our main man, James Marshall comes in. Over to you James…

“The three key things I look for in a new business are location, location and location!” James says. 

In 2015, Degani opened the doors to our first Brisbane franchise restaurant in Calamvale. With the aim to bring something fresh to the area, James designed the café to bring family and friends together, much like your dining room table, with great service, great food and great coffee.

“Hospitality is at the heart of what I do! Our franchisees love people, food and coffee. They have a passion for hospitality too.”

Behind the success of nearly 70 stores across Australia, James combines his knowledge and 25 years of hospitality experience (yes, he must have started young). He thoughtfully considers the advantages of site locations – like whether the store is North or South facing, potential customer foot traffic, store visibility, rent, fit-out costs and the layout.

“Degani has many business models, such as cafes, restaurants and kiosks. We operate in laneways, office towers, shops and major malls. The common factors among these models include the sightlines, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and low occupancy costs. I find the most viable commercial terms to ensure success for our business partner.”

After he secures the perfect location, he builds a story about the potential customer, based on local demographics. For example, a university student sipping a latte as they study or a parent bringing their child for a babycino after the school run. He communicates between the retail designer, landlord and store owner to meet the needs of the localized customer demographic.

“I design a store with the franchisee and community in mind. I consider the geography, build and surroundings. Everyone has different taste! Some of our partners want industrial designs, while others like art-deco chic. I marry the design to the franchisees personality to create a unique, bespoke design.”

The franchise business partner is at the core of every decision James makes – from choosing the colour palette to the kitchen fit out. The cafe is individually tailored to the local demographic and the franchise business partners’ wants and needs; each Degani café has its own atmosphere and this is reflected in Degani’s non-cookie cutter approach to the franchising model… along with James’ keen eye for design and detail.
